NATIONAL READ A BOOK DAY – September 6

NATIONAL READ A BOOK DAY

If you missed August 9th National Book Lovers Day like I did you can celebrate now with Read A Book Day.

How is National Book Lovers Day different than National Read A Book Day?

Book Lovers Day is for everyone that loves books to celebrate what we have in common.

National Read A Book Day is a day to put that love into ACTION.

HOW TO OBSERVE READ A BOOK DAY?

Sit back, relax and read a book. Read aloud to children, grandparents, to your pets, and plants.

SHARE by using #ReadABookDay to post on social media.

Here’s some suggested reading at National Day Calendar

A couple of the suggested Historical Fiction books are favorites of mine.

1)

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott – Set during the Civil War, Little Women follows the life of the March family.

(I'm looking forward to another movie on LITTLE WOMEN. I love reading a book and treating myself to the movie afterwards.)

2)

Julie of the Wolves by Jean Craighead George - To her small Eskimo village, she is known as Miyax; to her friend in San Francisco, she is Julie. When her life in the village becomes dangerous, Miyax runs away, only to find herself lost in the Alaskan wilderness. Miyax tries to survive by copying the ways of a pack of wolves and soon grows to love her new wolf family. Life in the wilderness is a struggle, but when she finds her way back to civilization, Miyax is torn between her old and new lives. Is she Miyax of the Eskimos—or Julie of the wolves?
